Class Dojo

I was recently introduced to Class Dojo and am excited to start using it in my classroom, especially at this time of the year.  Has anyone else used it?  I'm not sure what the best way is to go about it.  I like the idea of an app for the phone but I feel like that would drain my battery throughout the day.  The option for letting you email parents updates is fantastic.

Behavior has become a huge issue at our school since we have essentially stopped giving consequences.  This program looks like an easy way to track behavior and students will hopefully like it because it involves technology.  Can't wait to use it.

  1. Hi Heather - Kalen from ClassDojo here. Thanks so much for mentioning us in your blog - we really appreciate the support.

Totally understand the concern about the battery on your phone draining throughout the day. We haven't had any reports of this happening, but if you find it is, maybe you could have a charger at your desk and plugin between classes?

If anyone who comes across this post has any questions for us or needs help getting set up, please don't hesitate to reach out - hello@classdojo.com

    Cheers!

  2. This is a really cool site - thank you for sharing! I am a big fan of positive reinforcement and always loose track of or forget to fill out paper behavior charts that I have for some of my special friends. Having this be electronic you can have it running in the background. I did not have enough time look over the entire thing but can you use your phone to give points and have the pop-up go to your computer? Or do you have to do it all on the same device? It would be nice to have it work on two devices so if like me the only computer you have in the room all the time is the teacher workstation which is connected to the whiteboard projector you do not have to open the window each time you want to log a behavior.

  3. Really neat site! I like how they track positive as well as negative effects. Am going to share this with teachers in the April newsletter. The option for you to add your own behaviors is especially useful. I will recommend this site to my friends in an IBPYP school that can use this to keep track of points earned in student learner profiles.
